This is a game on queenalice.com I played where I played not good, and won down two pawn because I got lucky.

in general, putting your knight in front of your unmoved c pawn in a queen's pawn game is a bad idea because your c pawn is one of your best weapons in queen's pawn games, and blocking it is actually giving black an advantage on the second move.  After d4 Nf6 Nc3, black's c pawn is not blocked, and his kingside knight is developed, making his development faster

Yes, that was very general indeed...

yes...as my opp. showed in the game

playable, yes, but it does give away a signifacant advantage, as shown by the game explorer- after 1. d4 Nf6 2. Nc3,  it gives a 39.1% black win, a 32.9% white win, and a 28% draw.

Compare this to 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4- 38.9% white win, 34.2% draw, and 26.9% black win.

It's not that I think that the first few moves are all there is to it, It's just that I was going to leave it to you NM's to tell him that on move 22 he could have won a pawn with Qc4+(I'm not exactly sure, there look to be some complications) and that he shouldn't leave his back rank open when there's a queen ready to deliver checkmate.

Deranged

It was about the same time I learnt to block the 4 move trick that I learnt to watch out for back rank checkmates...

You should have done a move like h3 to prevent that.

Shame about your opponent, giving away a winning game...
