thanks glex, and you're right, i'm really not good at the short term calculation stuff. not really sure how i can improve this?
Lasker had some simple advice: "When you see a good move,... look for a better one!"
If you've got troubles it usually comes down to impulssivity, or lack of self control! It might be nerves or ego etc... Whatever, Laskers advice really helps!
I find that being perfect is more about feeling perfect .... I was just reading some of Anands tips from a link from his wiki page and he says what can serve as distraction is trying to work out the game to it's infinte extent: go easy onyourself and simply check for a better move each time!
My mate told me about the rule of nines... 9/10 times you won't have hit the perfect note. It's an exaggeration but it is basically saying what Lasker is saying and waht Kasparov said in his book HOW LIFE IMMITATES CHESS:"Unfortunately there are more ways to do a thing wrong that to do it right."
Assimilate that idea, ... have a coke, have a smile and box on!
Learnateverygame, in your last posted game, 19. Nxe7 seems to get met by a rude shock with 19...f5! Your Nd4 can't really move without losing an exchange and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see an outright knockout for you with your e4 pawn clogging the e file.
20. Nexf5 seems good enough.
