What is the best move?

Not sure what the heck is going on here, but this is a basic opening position and the most common move is actually bg4, but there is certainly nothing wrong with nf6, the second most common move. This is a exercise. The answer of book is Mge7, but all chess engines give me Mf6. Please help me!
