Sup man, for me that's a great checkmate. I'm not sure what is the name of that checkmate but I think it's probably a normal rook mate. Sorry if I'm wrong
What is the name for this checkmate?
I think this is just a miscellaneous pattern. The closest thing to it is probably the Vukovic Mate, but one can see it's clearly not that.
I don't think that it has a name, but it falls into a category called a "help mate." Black's pawn on d6 is helping the White checkmate. Help mates are not unique, but one in the middle of the board is unusual.
That's just one of the brute force mates that often happen at lower-level chess once the enemy king is baited into the center. Sorry but it's pretty common and a result of positional mistakes.

"Brute Force Mate" has a nice ring to it, though. I say we should call it that.

I played a somewhat unusual match earlier and accidentally walked into a checkmate while trying to bring my pieces into formation to attack the enemy king.
I've never seen this checkmate pattern before, so I am curious as to what its name might be. Thanks in advance : )
