Which analysis tells you to move the a1-Rook? Its is probably a rather shallow (and faulty) analysis.

Scottrf

Why is it not better to move the a1 rook? That rook has no pawn breaks or real scope on the a file. Moving that one allows both the f1 rook to take the e file or even a rook lift.

The rook doesn’t seem to be doing anything on a1, interested to hear why you think it’s faulty.

I dont think so,

Rad1, Ba6,

Nb5 , c6

Nc7 Bxd3

Nxe6 Bxf1

Nxf8  seemed ok to me. Stockfish can tell better, if I run my stockfish !

It would be funny, if this turned out to be a troll. Two people fell for it.

15. Rad1 Ba6 16.Nb5 c4 and black wins a piece.

Yeah, we really tied one on last night.

Ra-d1 &Rf-e1 seem the more natural moves to me but what I don't know bout chess is a lot; moving the R off f1 looks like a good idea to avoid the skewer black has w/ Ba3.

Also, I'm probably wrong but if you wanted to save a draw and since you repeated three times I guess you did, on move 88, after his king moved out of check to g3, could you play Rh3 for a stalemate ?

MatthewFreitag

The stockfish analysis itself states that Rfe1 is a better move, not Rad1. That's a pretty big mistake.

I thought I saw a way out of it, but after Nb5 c4 wins a piece so...
