Worst Game

I feel sorry for you man. that was a real bust, for sure

We all have games that we wish would just go away. It takes guts to share that.

3...Nd4?! {planning to bring your queen out} - It's strategically wrong to attack when you're behind in development and there's no forced win. 3...Nf6 or 3...Bc5 were sounder choices. This is a "One Hit Wonder". I grant you may score some quick wins with it if 4.Nxe5, but against most opponents you'll be playing from behind.

7.cxd4 - Note the result of your opening. White has 2 pieces developed to your 0, advanced both his central pawns, and traded off one of your central pawns for his flank pawn. Pretty bad, eh? You need to develop ASAP.

7...d6 8.Nc3 - "this was bad, i wanted some handle on the center but now i've blocked my bishops and queen in" - Yes, that's one problem with this move. Another is that you again ignored your development. White has 3 pieces developed to your 0... dangerous.

8...Nh6? - What the?! You allow Bxh6, breaking open your kingside when you're behind in development. This probably ain't gonna be pretty.

11...Bg7?? - White was threatening Qf7+. 11...Be7 might have saved you.

13...Rf8 - "wasn't paying attention to the mate. Wanted his queen out of there!" - Honestly, at this point it no longer mattered what you did. After you allowed your opponent a big lead in development and then helped him break open your kingside, and then missed a save... I think at this point you were lost.

Anyway, I hope this is helpful and not too harsh. You goofed... we all goof! The point is to learn from the experience. I think if you had kept up with your opponent's development you would have been a more formidable opponent. Good luck!  :)
