Hey - check out this mate in 13 moves only on a tranposed French line; it has a nice bishop sac that highlights effective and important attack patterns:

That's not a chess game, it's a mugging! Nice job.

rrrttt

sweet, but why does e4 get an !? It shouldn't get anything

I'd change the exclamation points:

4 e5! is just one of the main possible moves played thosands of times the other possible continuation being Bg5.

I don't like 5 Bd3, I'd give it a ?!, black can surely equalize easily if he plays the standard c5 break instead of the blunder Be7, after c5 white would struggle to maintain his centre which would give black counterplay.

6...0-0 is the definition of "castling into it", 7 Bh6 picks up an exchange quite simply but I can see why you wanted to go for mate instead.

after 8...Nxf6 I think black would be right back in the game, I don't see how white can continue his attack without letting black have some counterplay.

after his 8...Bf6 couldn't you have just taken on e6 and then d5? i guess you didn't want to give up the attack for some mere pawns

Liked the greek bishop sac though, usually you need a pawn on e5 to cover f6 so that Qh5 can be played but you played it with a difference, to play Nxe6.

The french is not a great choice for a low rated player as you can get in big trouble if you don't understand the positional aspects.

But anyway I am being to hard, great fun game, even if black did play poorly.

oh and I see it was a quick game, that explains it.

I think I prefer 7. Bh6 over 7. Nf3. The mate threat on g7 forces black to play 7. ... g6. This gives you a lever to open the h-file with h4-h5-hxg6. Of course, you can just win the exchange with Bxf8 if you want, but I think 8. h4 Re8 9. h5 will be successful. (Or 8. ... f5 9. Qg3 and the pawns around the king are even weaker.)

8. ... Bxf6?? As you pointed out, Nxf6 was much better.
