A fun game, the power of a pawn army!

This really was a fun game, and a casual one. I'm not just saying that because I won, but because this a game showcase forum, I'll post this one game where I actually won (trust me, I've had my share of losses :)). Anyway, I think a couple of wasted moves on my opponents behalf gave me the win. I don't have time to annotate the game thoroughly, but I will say this much, my opening was not that great, but my end game was in my opinion pretty sweet. Leave contructive comments.

Nice!!!

You chased the Queen into the back, and forced the King out.

white should have played Qxc6. also, after Nxc6, try Qf6, capturing the knight without doubled pawns. he can't move the knight because of Qxf2#

I think white went out of book with 5.Nxc6.  5...Qf6 threatens mate on f7 and allows you to recapture with the d pawn and castle queenside with the rook on the open file.  But i notice you crushed your opponent anyway Laughing

The first 4 moves were of the scotch opening.  White doesnt usually take the knight though.  I think 5.Be3 is the mainline.

The Scotch Game (not to be confused with the Scotch Gambit, which usually arises after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4. Bc4) used to be my opening of choice as white before looking at the Spanish and preparing some lines of the Italian for surprise value. 5.Be3 is the most common at that point in the game, but Nxc6 is not terribly uncommon  or bad really - it's still book, the second choice. Black's usual reply is 5...Qf6 and white follows up with something like Qd2, though there are several options that are ok.
