A scicilian tragedy (<20 move miniature)

Well, I guess my oponent botched the opening, but the resulting positions and not to mention the satisfying mating sequence with a surprise ending, made this game quite memorable.

Though I support innovation, my oponent got seriously punished for trying to get ' creative' in the Scicilian opening to my Grand Prix attack:

P.S.>This was a 15 min 0 sec live match, so time pressure was not really an issue.

i guess Kasparov and Karpov and too much competition for my post! lol

Love pawn mates.

The more I look at 2.... f6 the more I think your annotation of "highly dubious" is overly generous. I think it may very well be the worst move possible in the position, even 2...f5 is preferable. You played aggressively and took no prisoners, well played.

I can't quite believe that black played 14...Nxf5 in (maybe) the only break white gave him: instead of focusing heavily on defense to lose heroically or,perhaps, snatch victory right from defeat's mouth, suddenly a pawn is captured on the wrong side of the board!

Talk about capitalizing on your opponent's weaknesses! Well done for focusing on the king the whole time, avoiding to be tempted to grab material on a winning position.

I feel that it's more diplomatic to be euphemistic when discussing the downfalls of others.... lol
