Hey! Just wanted to showcase this sweet victory, sweeter still because of the fact that I am outrated by over 300 points on this game as well! This one gives a nice illustration as to how to co-ordinate pieces for a kingside attack in record time, making my opponents choices from bad to worse, and keeping attacking pressure on right from the start - leading to an early checkmate finish!

Enjoy, comment, analayse:

Nice, typical French defence setup type Bishop sac. Can't believe a 2000 plus didn't see that coming.....

What about f3? its not mate just yet.

Greek Gifts are fun to hand out. I've given two nearly identical ones in Correspondence games -

In your case, accepting the Bishop was suicidal. The warning factors of a GG sacrifice were all there - e5 pawn removing the f6 knight, pawn on h4, Bd3, Nf6, Queen and KR on starting squares. Surprised your opponent didn't see it coming! Well delivered.

Well that's what I  like about the lines I chose - the French transposed can throw the opponent off as the usual 'trigger' for getting into the French 'mode' is not activated at the same time as it would in a normal French.

This can give a useful psychological edge where the opponent may feel less comfortable than they should in a given position, simply due to the difference in move order that was used to achieve it.

Anyways, these lines have been working out terrifically for me, and I can't wait to expand on it further.
