Assasination of a King

After i blundered my forces, i started to look for ways to checkmate with knight + rook. Most well known ways are Arabian or Anastasia's checkmate patterns.

So i needed to prepare it without raising any suspicion. Approched my knight by attacking his rook and he thought i was trying to equalize the material. Then he attacked my rook and i moved it to a "proper square" for the plan and it looked like i just stepped out of harm's way.

Then he started to give checks with two rooks and secured the final blow square in the process. first i thought he realized my plan but then he removed the protection from that square.. he was just trying to push his attack randomly.. with his material superiority..

But, mind over matter.. my plan was better (as long as it wasnt noticed ) and surprising move got delivered.. bum.
