What computer did you play? It's really weak, My phone on 1sec on each move doesent play this bad! I'm sure my fridge would play better...
Beat Computer on Hard Level - First Time

Qd2 at move 26 would have had me beat. I'm surprised the "2000 rating" level computer didn't make this move.
It's not a 2000 rating level then, it's hard to adjust computers at weak levels, to get down to 2000 it needs to do mistakes, sometimes the mistakes get's to big and the level is probably 1500.
-Play against people instead.
I was curious so I tryed the "2000+" computer my self, as you'll see it sucks!
This is surly not 2000 in playing strength, people with 1500 in fide doesent make this big mistakes...
this isn't even syntax..
I don't give the f... take a look at the game instead, the computer is closer to 1200 than 2000
It's hard to adjust an engine to a low level, 2000 is really weak for a computer.
-Some years ago I played much against the chessmaster 9000, becasue it was no chessclubs near and I didn't have a internet connection, even the 2500 levels are weak.
It pretty much says it all when a 1400 rated player beats the "2500" computer, I wasn't that underrated.
have you tried shredder or hiarcs to see how it matches up ..?
chessmaster is known to be lame
perhaps the chess.com computer got weaker from last summer?
Shredder is much better, it kick's ass from 2000 and up!
I have Fritz 10, and some Rybka engines, but it's no fun playing against a computer, I even don't bother analyzing my games with the computer, I try to do it myself instead.
The computer has never told me what was wrong, just showing some mistakes and better lines. So after a while with the computer telling you how much you stink at tacticks, you really want to give up chess!
the thing that bothers me the most is that they play slow or are gonna make some dumb errors and I don't really have the time or patience for it.
Yes sometimes it needs more than one sec to find mate in 4-5...
You probably got an old computer then... I have a dual core Thosiba laptop, it performs well, enough to make it no fun at all!
The chess.com computer doesent play rated games... and it still suck's!
You CAN play the computer rated.

Probably an easy way to get a higher rating then, just beat it and wait for it to climb against weaker players. But online rating really doesent mean much.

Your rating isn't even that good and its against the rules to do that - play the computer with the same moves to win rating points. Already mentioned, if you want a challenge, play people! If its so easy, then why is there a discussion on it? Beat it and move on.
I have never said that I am a good player, I just stated that the chess.com computer really stinks! Look at my game against it, 12 moves!
-I play against people, computers that's just boring.

All those people who said they beat 2000+ looks like a lie as their best wins are against no one of that level...and from what I've seen, the HARD computers rating is only around 1600s. Impossible is the one that is 2k+ and it rarely loses. The game also doesn't display the ratings so it isn't a direct PGN file of your game. Also, the computers ratings can be kind of inflated since it mops the floor with all the noobs. If you want a better assessment of your strength, play people.

At what point did you beat the computer at that level? Unless the game was unrated, then thats a different story but I don't know how you would challenge the computers unrated.
I have absolutely no reason to lie about beating someone or something in chess. If I were to ever become that pathetic, it would be time for a new hobby.
I was a little bit pleased with beating what I thought was a 2000+ level computer, but after reviewing the game, there were a couple noticeable mistakes on the computer side that make me think my win wasn't all that fantastic.
As for your comment about the PGN not being "directly from the game" you are absolutely 100% WRONG.
I think the computer made some mistakes in the end game. I would appreciate comments on my play.
