Blackburne Shilling Gambit Perfection!

I was black in this game and my opponent fell for the Blackburne Shilling Gambit, to the point of checkmate!!

Kuya9ie

Wow!!!! Impressive! I would’ve lost too as white.

Francis920

Granted, it only works if your opponent isn't familiar with the gambit.

Kuya9ie

I agree what was the time setting on this?

Francis920

Here's one more of the few games I really feel dominant in-my opponent resigned one move before a beautiful mate! He blundered quite a few pieces, but I tried to still play the best moves, not the laziest. Comment if you see some moves that I missed.

Francis920

@Kuyagie it was 15-10

Kuya9ie

Well done on staying focus. Blunders still happen a lot under 1300, keep it up. I'm cool to play with anyone on live when I'm free just PM me.

InigoJones

Blunders still happen a lot over  2300 too, otherwise no one would win. A mistake is a mistake.

Its kinda like someone being half pregnant aint it? JMHO to validate my superoverblunderousness.

;-)

Is that the Fishing Pole trap @DennisZhou?

That's why it's a 'gambit' it only works if your opponent takes the bait.  You would never get away with this against a computer, or against a high rated player, but if white takes the pawn, and follows that with the knight fork, at that point, it's all over except the crying, for white. If white follows with the bishop check instead of the knight fork, it becomes a little more complicated and will not be over in the seven moves a perfect Blackburne Shilling takes.  If white takes the gambit pawn and follows with the bishop check, black will still win, but it will be trickier.   I loves me some gambits, I like to have a few Blackburne Shillings for breakfast every morning!

I’m quite sure it’s more of a trap than a legit gambit

I guess so.

Here is a cool viseo on the fishing pole trap for those of you who haven't seen it before.

I don't understand what's wrong about the video. I showed the possibility of a checkmate if black makes a mistake but if he doesn't you can still get a lot of material. I might have missed something else so if you could elaborate on that, it would be great. I am open to suggestions. Sorry if I sounded a bit mean. I don't mean it.
