The brilliant move was Bxf6, not the sacrifice itself
That is not how the greek gift sacrifice works
But its similar
Actually, the greek gift sacrifice does knight move and then a queen move not a rook move
first game: cool! a modern greek gift I'd say.
second game: very nice! using that lost bishop for checkmate, that's such an Art.
These two games show how dubious the "brilliant move" designation can be. While in the first game 18. Bxf6 is a great idea with the follow up of 19. Bxh7+ but one would think the 19. Bxh7+ bishop sacrifice would get the brilliant move designation. And in the second game obviously one cannot argue the merit of capturing the hanging piece with 20. Bxh5, obviously the winning move, but I would hardly call it brilliant.
Nevertheless, two well played games.
