Taking the b4 pawn (or any other move to the 4th rank) incomunicates the queen, because of d4. The Queen was needed kingside, where the action was taking place

Y pensar que se tuvo que retirar a los 21, sin duda el mejor jugador mexicano de la historia. Se enfrento a los tres grandes de su época: Alekhine, Lasker y a mi ídolo Capablanca, gano a Lasker y empato a los otros dos.
Cosa curiosa, al referirse a esta partida dijo: "No la considero una buena partida, ambos cometimos varios errores, esa fue una de mis peores partidas, y también la peor de Lasker"
