Why didn't you castle at the king side at the first place?

I thought, for a brief moment, that your opponent could have tried 35...Qb6, but then I noticed 36.Qxf7+ Kh8 37.Qf6+ Qxf6 38.gxf6 Rxd4 39.f7, with no way for Black to stop the loss.  Excellent play!

He was playing a variation of a Yugoslav Attack, in which the kingside pawns advance to break open lines of attack to the enemy king.  His pawns were already advanced when the plan changed, so castling kingside would have left him quite exposed.

I didn't see why the black will lose with

35.Rf3  Rf8

36.  Ne6 ?

if Ne6, and then Qe1+.  ........and Qxe6

After that, Black has  3 pawns up and the postion is not bad. I think.

Looking at the game again, it looks as if I might have resigned prematurely.  I also thought 35...Rf8 36.Ne6?? was winning for White, but of course 36...Qe1+ wins for Black.  So, what else can White do after 35...Rf8 (forced)?  How about 36.Nc6 Qd2 37.Qf6, threatening Ne7 mate, but then Black has perpetual check with 37...Qd1+. It seems that White must surely be winning this position, but I can't see an actual winning line, and Black has a lot of checking possibilities. Rats...."No one ever won a game by resigning".....Tarkakower quote I believe lol.....

Actually, there is no perpetual check, as White can run the king to the kingside, when Black would have to try to engineer ...Qe6+ and trade the queens. Perhaps I can draw by trading off the pawns after trading queens? Hmmm, that knight on c6 is quite annoying, stopping my queenside pawns. An extra piece is very useful! Looks like White wins, but I should have played it out.
