Develop Your Pieces

It was more QID/Nimzo like for black to play either 5...Bb4 or 6...h6 7Bh4 Ne4.(In last line think it is quite hard work for white to get any advantage.) Game transposed to a main-line of QGD Tartakower, where for some reason top players play 9...Nd7, instead of 9...c5. Black looked ok in resulting hanging pawns position though, before horrible g5 anyway. Another option for black was 10...pxp 11Bxc4 Qxd1. 12Rf-d1 Bxc5 which could be hard for white to win.
I can't work everything out after 17Qh5 to be honest, but looks impressive.
Sometimes your opponent begins something that you need to recognize and then change your own plans to meet. The following game began quietly enough where both players followed opening theory until move 12, then suddenly my opponent began an errant plan. White switch from one idea of long term end game thoughts to tactical style of play based on his opponents choices.
