Ever been in a losing position then play a simple trick and win? Its easy to fall for a trick when you're winning because you completely forget that you're opponent has plans and in a sense feel invincible whereas when the position is equal you may see your opponents threats. I think this is a useful strategy to learn though it may be wrong in a sense.

Here I set up a trick, to win the rook, hoping for an overeager pawn push of c6 that would threaten my f-pawn; (worse, in the game, it was blundered into a quick checkmate - winning the white queen instead).
