What does the opening have to do with the result? Your opponent was winning, and you hung material that they didnt take.
french should be banned

Probably referring to the chance for 20 Qe4 Qxe4 21 Bxe4 Rb8 22 Bf4 and White wins the exchange back for the two Pawns.

yeah that is a good tactic combination, still is a bit deep. but i think this falls into missed tactic category. not hanging piece and not taking it. and result would be barely equal after that combo, not winning.
still thanks for pointing that out.
But it´s you, who made a mistake at the opening. If your opponent wold know how to play, you would be after: 4.cxc5 Bxc5 5. Qg5 in some troubles. The opening explorer shows, that far more than half of the games with this situation are lost for black.
Despite what the opening explorer may say, Black is in no trouble after 5.Qg4 (not g5) Nge7 . But I believe 4...Nc6 is more accurate that 4...Bxc5

Which opening explorer are you using? The one on this site shows Black winning 80% of the games after 5...Ne7, and the one on another site has similar statistics.
I use the opening explorer of 365chess.com:
here it´s not that obvious. But only, if both sides know what to do.

Interesting that the explorers are all different.
Shure. I think it depends on how many and which kinds of games they store. If you have a database just, let´s say, people with more than 2200 elo it will be very different to a database with a lot of games from ordinary people.
French is just too powerful
some feel different...
If you changed it to “Alekhine defense player” saying “ every time someone says the opening I play is unsound and/or garbage I do one push up” it would make perfect sense too

Genuinely scared of that opening... I always overextend...

Now I just play Nc3 and hope for e5...

This is two illegal moves out of three. Not bad at all!

Although i'm playing a trash chess, i play confident with french.. against some lower rated players ofc
playing french even feels like cheating time to time.. it's like a glitching bug in chess
