What do you think of this?
Some books that helped me a lot were the series by Euwe - Middlegame book 1 and 2. It helped open my eyes to extracting the maximum power out of each piece and how one really good positional quality may be enough to dictate the game. In this game, the feature that struck me most was the strong bishop play and potential bishop play. The g6 bish was an obvious thorn in Blacks side. The other telling positional factor, the one that really knocks Black out is the weak black squares one the queenside. The a3-f8 diagonal is very soft, and after Ke7, should prove immediately fatal. The move d5 passes up the chance to strike on that weakness, therefore the disapproval by the analysis engine.
good one, fzweb
