Today, I went to Washington Square Park in NYC to try and play against the hustlers there. The first guy I played beat me mercilessly, and he said that he was rated 2200+ USCF. I asked him who I could play and have a chance to beat and he directed me to my next opponent. I lost to this next guy with 5 mins per side (and lost $5) and I told him that I'd like to play with longer time controls. He said that he would play with no clock for $10, and I agreed. I went on to play a few more quick games against him and lost 2 and won 1, but overall I made a couple bucks on the day.
