try not to do waiting moves like a6 if there is no point. a good move can serve as a waiting move too, or further preparing a good move if you really believe that there is a chance your opponent will fall for the trap.
i actually expected better play from rated 1400s, perhaps i should massively play them for points and start playing rated again, because im only playing unrated =D
