LUCKY - Quick turnaround

I didn't play this game well at all, and was a pawn down and looking in trouble, until what seemed a slight error from my opponent gave me a surprisingly strong attack.

2 reasons I post - the main one for some tips on my useless opening (I always play French positions badly, as find defending against a black f6 with a fianchettoed bishop very difficult), also for how quick the position for black deteriorated without any massive blunders (I was shocked anyway)

Im not the right person to suggest this, considering that I'm about 500 points below you, but I think 10. Bg5 would force trade of your dark-squared bishops if your opponent were to play f6- therefore, they should refrain, and the move shouldn't be played by them.

Nytik - my rating is misleading - I hardly play on this part of the site so it moves a lot with each game. I'm really (I guess) a 1750-1800 strength player. So all advice taken :)
