btw morphy could use any opening he wants and the opening becomes "strong", just for him playing it.

When you say he played a risky opening... was it considered risky when he played it? Maybe the chess theory at the time said it was perfectly plausible.

Im doing a little piece that shows great games that we can talk about on here. This first game is between Henry Bird and Paul Morphy. Henry Bird playing white was highest rating according to chessmetrics whom, i guess adjust ratings and stuff, but they give henry bird a peak of 2635 rating. Paul Morphy who plays black has a peak rating of 2743. Here is the game. Game 2 will be out in around 24 hours.
