Not quite what you're asking about, but perhaps relevant & interesting:

Tim Krabbé's page with chess records: http://www.xs4all.nl/~timkr/records/records.htm

A couple more here: http://www.chesshistory.com/winter/extra/records.html

i've since surpassed the number of moves.  i have had a live game go 150 moves or so....

another way to look at the longest game on chess.com - how many days/months/years did it take to finish your longest turn based game?  i haven't checked but i do know i have been playing a tournament for over a year and still not done - we are in round 4 now!

i just played my first two tournaments ever. made it to the second round in both, then ended up forfeiting a bunch of my games by default. do you know how to check my tournament record?

DRcheckmate

in otb i played a game that was 117 moves and 6 hours and 30 minutes long i won

hi bobbysquares - sorry i missed this post!  you can check your tournament record in the statistics area. it will show you how many games you played as white and black. how many you won, also as white and black, what the average rating of your opponents was when you won, lost or drew...  etc etc.

dr checkmate - i've since gone past 100 moves on several occassions especially on some live chess games.

you're talking about last Friday's first round game that you played?  Yeah your opponent probably should have resigned a while back but you kept it close enough such that he thought he could squeeze a draw.

are you talking about the friday one i played in reno? if you are you are correct

maybe 60 Re3 kd5 61 Rc5 kxd4 62 ke2 will shorter your game much by keeping checking to draw
