Nice Mate in 1 min

Most 1 min games I'm playing for time and position.  As I just can't see tactics quickly enough (even though I consider myself a good tactical player).  I just thought overall this was a solid game positionally which led to a nice mate.  Since checkmates happen less in 1 min than time running out, please post your best 1 min mates beyond 10 moves.

ok I was wondering what was wrong with your opening. 1... d6!?   2...c6!?  3.. b6!?  just made me think that White had a supreme advantage, even while using overpressing on the kingside.

7. c3 was bad and hindered White's advantage. It's purpose to prevent Nb4 was pointless since if it's going anywhere it's c5.  then f5? was equally bad when after Black castled long htere is no point trying to play in the kingside.

thus, I praise g6 , then e5!  that attack was systematic, every move opening a diagional or file.

16. d4 asked for trouble.

way to punish passiveness.

by the way, what opening was that you used? it looks interesting, especially in a 1 min game.

I just made it up on the spot :).  In quick games I try not to play memorized lines because then opponents don't have to think.  I'd rather people be confused with bad moves than be comfortable with the best moves.  Just my style and also keeps me thinking as well during the opening.

Well, this is from a 3 minute game I played last night. I would post a 1 minute game, but my archive doesn't go back far enough to have one worth posting. I was quite pleased with this one, though:

I enjoyed that game very much!

No mate here, but same opening and this player has been rated over 1600 so no slouch in quick (his best win is over someone rated 1900).

My little 1 min miniature :)

Excellent game, j1m1. Did you notice that it was mate before you played Rxe7, or was it a case of going for the capture and getting a pleasant surprise?
