But you too :3
5.Qxc8+ Smells Trouble :I
This isn't strictly a Parham Attack game, but the principles are essentially the same. One thing I do out of crankiness is to constantly badger the out-of-place queen as much as possible, because I know that a player who tries the Parham or the Napoleon is a blowhard who isn't paying much attention in the first place. Once they lose their queen, they resign.
And then, I'm sure, they go off and try the same old trick on some other sucker.
DeepCamilo: Yeah, you're right :) But as soon as they were down one less rook, it's not like he even tried.
Well Thats how These Gentlemen are: He thought you were a girl and he let You win. One time he let you ein but then The next Time he Must Show you who The Boss is. Aw These Nice guys.
But this one really ticks me off. Big time. I'm White this time, and again, it's not exactly, Parham, but it's an early queen move nevertheless. I harrass the queen as much as I can. Sure enough, I win the piece.
And then the other player sits for 3 minutes (out of a 5 min game) and does NOTHING. I'm expecting that they're letting the clock tick down to 0:00 out of spite, but then he or she comes back to the keyboard and starts up again. I only pay half-attention, because I expect the clock to time out. Then, with only 15 seconds or so left, they discover that they can put me in check, and by shear dumb luck they mate me.
It's my own flagrent stupidity at fault here, and the worst of it is that he or she probably didn't learn anything. DON'T MOVE YOUR QUEEN EARLY!!! :)
@bob's previous game - before the queen blunder, black was much better :P
parham games? i'll contribute, 2 0 bullet (you weren't expecting a good game, were you?)
Arg... equal parts crazy angry and laughing about that game.
But the thing that's most galling about early queen moves is that when I harrass the preemptive queen and eventually win her, it so often happens that the other player begins to harrass MY queen. "Hold on one second!" I want to say... "I developed my queen normally! Why are you buggin' me about it? YOU'RE the one who didn't follow standard advice!" It's as if they think of me as being some kind of jerk, when it's quite the opposite.
And then I remember, "Wait... that's just human nature."
:)
One example of a Parham Attack game I played recently as Black. As I said, I always get the feeling that the kind of player who uses this opening doesn't know how to play the game without a queen.
