95% accurate blackmar diemer von popeil gambit as black. I do better with the straight to 3.f3 gedult gambit myself

a 44% accurate win in 12! woohoo!
a smith morra gambit in 13 I'm proud of even if stalefish grades me a 77. I took some GM's advice to play Qb3 as soon as a sicilian pushes e5 where I wasn't retaining it in training and it served me so well in this game.

82% accurate mieses gambit

loving the heck out of super aggressive, pressuring AND mobile englund > hartlaub/charlick so much i'm hating the scandinavian more than ever now

an 86% accurate smith morra I was SUPER proud of FEELING like I played it very well

83% king's gambit becker in the zone

stalefish doesn't approve of my hartlaub charlick's plans and only rated this one 78% accurate

in initial analysis, stalefish rated the final position a -3.5, but the longer it looks at the position, the higher the eval goes. it's been on it a couple minutes and is up to -6.1 at 37/99 depth

I was so hyped that I got my 1st 1700 pelt with it that I logged out and used CHESS as today's wordle clue and solved THAT in 2! that's a chess game AND a wordle in 11!

It is SOOOOO refreshing getting out of the stonewall straightjacket and playing, maybe THE most aggressive and tactical gambit in my repertoire. The hartlaub is just soooo open, mobile, and such an EASY to visualize target rich environment that I'm madly in love with it, and obsess a little about it.

Just before that, my one and only game so far today, I was musing how much I like playing it and replaying its tactical motifs in my head so when my first opponent played 1.d4 with the highest rating I've faced yet. I was EXCITED! I even made a point of telling my opponent that I'm about 85% accurate (I just get THIS accepted gambit AND its plan B even C resources) in it and that he or she was my 1st 1700. Meanwhile, I'm thinking "Your butt is MINE!" like I do whenever I see another unwary carokann, but with even MORE enthusiasm because I'm going to be using my tactical problem solving skills almost every move outside of plan A "book".

I used to play the smith morra this well over a decade ago, but black's had that much time and database access to figure out new main lines. It's funny arguing with gambit haters who try to tell me this opening is "holding me back & isn't sound" when my results (hold on... getting an update for TODAY... stats are EVEN BETTER! ) 32:65 in 34 games after 1...e5!? !!! I can OFFICIALLY say my results are slightly better TNAN 2:1! 1% better maybe, but math legit!

how can 2:1 results IMMEDIATELY playing MY GAME MY WAY with my BEST accuracy stats in a line you SAY sucks at 2000+ when even at 2000, black STILL can ALMOST only get = results in a couple lines?!

I'm a tactician. My stonewall stats (and I've been playing that since at least 2005) are LOSING but I jump straight to winning with the "sorry charlie" (I like that analogy because tuna comes in a can, and the charlick uses what I call "can opener" tactics (sacking a minor piece to get pawns out of the way)

until white starts stepping his game up, i forsee better than 2:1 stats as I learn this EASY (for a tactician) to understand line. it speaks my language without much (purely) positional mumbo jumbo.

2 pawn moves... pawns are out of the way? DONE! more pawn moves? NOPE! we are DONE moving pawns!

MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Not my "best" miniature... probably close to my worst, actually, but entertaining. I hung a piece, thought about resigning, but then threw the rest of the pieces into the fire instead.

Another demonstration of the Grasshopper Opening.
The system quickly leads to positional advantages in terms of piece configuration and pawn structure.

owens defense opening trap . Premoved 3 moves and beat this guy with fools mate in 9 seconds lol. Now that is a poison pawn.

My opponent was rather weak, but the finale is instructive for some.

Good game!

A wise old chap once told me, "Never castle as Black in the French Defence."

"Never" is probably an over-statement, but very often the King is safer in the middle.

Funny game! Yogi Berra's "It's not over till it's over" line come to mind.

I started playing this 6.f3 line against the Najdorf, instead of the more usual Bg5 or Bc4. It's less popular, but I believe perfectly sound. Anyway, on my lowly level, many players seem to be less familiar with it, and it's pretty effective in short time controls.

Plenty of blunders in this game, but I guess the other guy made the last blunder..... wink
