11.h4 immediately was probably better since the rook doesn't need to be forced to e8; it needs to move to give the king room to escape.
If the rook doesn't move after h4, for example c5 then h5 cxd4 hxg6 hxg6 Bxg6! is hopeless for Black.
My opponent for this one had just given me a torrid time as white by using the King's Gambit and only a blunder allowed me to undeservedly win that one. I was therefore surprised by the passivity with which he played the black pieces.
I daresay some of my attacking moves were flawed but it all seemed to work out nicely in this instance.
