Okay so I know there are alot of mistakes and I know I could have mated sooner, but hey it's my favorite game to date of mine! Luring the king out despite having the enemy queen eyeing me down was exhilarating! I always knew every American had a hint of Morphy in them! :)
18... Kc7 and although you have some compensation for the piece, there are not enough open files on the queenside for your attack to work.
Excellent point, but I suppose at the time the urge to sac it was overwhelming, I guess it could be attributed to the fact that I had previously lost to my opponent in a game before and I wanted to win in a flashy fashion.
