you got lucky, your piece development was not good. Always develop your knights before your bishops. dont try to loose too much tempo
Someone review this game please?

I would count his dropping his queen on move 19 as "dropping a piece".
He was already losing the g4 pawn, wasn't he? And the game would be basically lost cuz his king would be open right?

That's a very good game, particularly for 800-900. If you keep playing like that you should gain rating points fairly soon. You attacked well, didn't panic when your Queen got attacked and found checks that worked in your favour. Your pieces were on the whole protected, and you took advantage of some less than optimal moves by your opponent. Chess_Player_lol has put some comments in your game that are really good, so review those suggestions. Just to reiterate what a few people have mentioned, 2. ... Nc6 rather than 2. ... Bc5 is probably to be preferred. Your Queen Knight is going to end up on c6 anyway (in all likelihood) but after a few moves you may end up wanting your Bishop somewhere else, so keep it back until its best square becomes apparent. Knights have fewer options. I liked your repositioning of your Knight to f4 to start things off. Chess_Player_lol is a far stronger player than me, so their comment on the initial Ng4 should be taken in preference, one thing you did gain from it was eventually White pushed to h3. Those little pawn moves can create targets to be exploited in order to try and rip a hole in the opponents defenses, so even though Ng4 might not have been the best move this time, keep those little "sticky-outy pawns" in mind whenever they arise. Anyway, your play in the final attacking section of the game was very well done. Good game.

you played a very good game not really any serious mistakes just a few inacuracies
Yeah, honestly in hindsight Bd7 and Ng4 just look stupid, idk why I played them, maybe to attack or something.. 2. Nc6 is just inviting the Fried Liver as you showed in your line, and I'm not comfortable with inviting it for some reason as black... Other than that, great analysis!
Also @Chess_Player_lol how did you break the 1200 mark? My play just feels like stagnating at this point (I'm 1100 now, have been for 2 months).. Did you study more or something?

The "Fried Liver" is based upon Black making a mistake; it is basically a trick, just slightly more advanced than the Scholar's Mate. If you are Black, just don't take the pawn! Go Na5 and (as Black) you avoid the whole set of nasty. The "Fried Liver" starts at the point Black plays Ne5, up to then, it's just the "2 Knights Defence". If, as Black, you just got Na5, you attack White's Bishop, and avoid the complications. If you get into the "Fried Liver", either you or your opponent has made a mistake.

i dont really remember doing anything in specifc, i think back then i jsut watched a bunch of master game recaps and the occasional gothamchess videos. A lot of my improvement back then was jsut through a lot of time and definitely not an efficient way to improve.
what I would do if i had to restart si first to master my tactical play, so many tactics go unseen in games at your level, so grinding a bunch of puzzles has shown a lot of success to newer players. Also I would recommend reading "road to positonal advantage" by herman grooten it is a great introductory book to positional play, which is something a lot of players seem to neglect studying at your level.
This is my first game where I tried to mount a legit attack on an opponent who didn’t outright blunder a piece (to my limited knowledge), but I still feel there could have been something I could have done better. I’m 850 rated on chess.com. Please analyze this game and tell me where I can improve. I was black btw.
My first post, please no haters! Constructive criticism always appreciated :-)... Also, how do you flip the board when sharing anyway?
