The Halász Gambit
Sort:
As well as a major mistake...I recommended 11-,Be6 instead of Re8 but now I realized that it would met 12.f5 Bxb3 13.fxg6 Be6 14.gxh7+ Kxh7 15 e5+ Kh7 16. Ng5 with a winning attack.
Apparently there is also a Halasz gambit with e4 c5 d4 cxd4 f4. Do both the c5 as the e5 versions have the same name or should one have a different name?
Attila Schneider who was one of the leading theory epxert of the Sicilian had some correspondence with Halász about this gambit. From what I saw, the original version is 1.e4 e4 2. d4 exd4 3.f4. If this gambit was came from a Sicilian position, Schneider would surely mention it in one of his books.
