this guy definitely thought he had a winning attack but I had this worked out pretty much the way it went 😂 apparently it was better to take the rook but I liked the threat of 3 knights by his king better.

The engine prefers the rook capture but it wasn’t a mistake to promote to a knight. I wanted to make sure I could recapture with check because I had to sacrifice my queen at some point or it was mate in 1. More intuitive than accurate I suppose. He pretty much had to take the new knight because once my king was perfectly safe his position would be almost impossible to play with 3 knights, a bishop and rook on an open file baring down on a lightly defended king. 3 knights together cover ALOT of squares, very dangerous to have near your king.
