2. Bb5? is weird. Black simple take a tempo with 2... a6. After 3. Bc4, black need not play 3... b5 4. Bd5, but 3... e6 or 3... Nc6 and has better position. The game is full of mistakes on both sides. You made the penultimate mistake. 
"Spanish variation" in sicilian deffence can be played a move later, after 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 or 2... Nc6. Then, 3. Bb5 is a good move. White avoid usuall sharp variations 3. d4 etc., play more posititional, with small but more persistent advantage.
