yea, that's a good one! I think your opponent had the queen fork in mind and forgout about his own king! haha

I especially liked how my light squared bishop pinned the f7 pawn the whole game, allowing me to open the h file.  After it was opened black was just lost - serves as a warning to all dragon players to make sure that you play actively while being wary of a white kingside attack - ...h5 should have been played at some point.

bobmacambob

nice one but it is almost exactly like another game I saw from Chess Teacher.com something like that I think

shuttlechess92

really? strange, we were playing by instinct!

RuyFopez

SHUTTLE! YOU DESTROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYED!!!!!!!!

shuttlechess92

thank you =)

Nice game! AT move 20, couldn't you have forced a win with Bxg7?

Possible lines:

20. ..Kxg7

21. Qh6+    Kf8

22.Qh7/h8 ++

or

20. ..Black moves something

 and then white plays

21. Rh8+   Kxg7

22. Qh6++

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Very very nice game!

Obviouslt the second line comes slightly later  if he plays check.

Great light-squared B! The winning edge, as you say. Black needed the bookish e6, or h5 or even Kh8, but - in classic Dragon action - overestimated his attack while underestimating yours. Fun game:)

I've taught you to many tricks Shuttlechess...it is like you are stealing my games now :)

theodred - this was during a blitz game, so I was afraid of Rxc2 + (I did not see my knight protecting it =).  Your forcing lines are correct - very similar to what I played!

davidetal - the light bishop was my savior - oh boy do I love pins!

immortalgamer - true, but If only I could use them against you!
