Alright. Title could be worded a lot better, but I'm going to be seeing my uncle for Christmas Eve and I plan to play a game against him (we have only ever played one game, about 6 months ago.) I have only ever played as White against him and I know he plays the Dutch in response to 1.d4 so I am preparing for that. However, in the event I play Black, I have no idea what to do.
This is probably a stupid question, but, what openings should I prepare for? (when playing as Black)
Whatever you prepare for is unlikely to be played. So just figure out what you want to play against e4 and against d4. Pretty much any other than those can be considered as one of those for preparation purposes.
Even if you knew the first couple of moves, anything you prepare is likely not going to happen anyway and will deviate within 4-6 moves, unless your uncle is a stronger tournament player and booked up.
