10+5 Time Control

My understanding is that 10-minute chess is the most popular time control.  Has Chess.com considered offering a 10+5 quick pairing option? There's nothing worse than losing a game on time when the position is an easy win (or draw).

Yes they have.

Danny Rensch answered a question about that in the last State of Chess.com broadcast. In short, he said that even though there is a dedicated community for time controls like that and some of the online competitions they broadcast used it-- that it wouldn't happen. He said 90+% of the games played on chess.com were no-increment ten minute, five minute, three minute and one minute and that all the rest of the choices accounted for less than 10% combined and that there simply was only so much screen real estate available.

Thanks for the info.  I suspect that the chess.com statistics are skewed, because most of the quick pairing options are zero increment.  In any event, I won't hold my breath waiting for 10+5! But why so many players consider dirty flagging to be an interesting part of the sport of kings is beyond me.

Looks like they changed their mind.

There is now a 10|5 option.

You can costumize the timer, however,if you want to pay against someone,it is very hard to find players(took me 6 minutes to find a game at 15|10 just so he aborts the game)

Well, dirty flagging is pretty fun...
