How can chess.com allow 10 seconds games to be played? what will happen in 10 seconds? few of my friends started playing 10 seconds game and this has helped them increasing them there bullet ratings by say like 300-400 points. but is it even worth playing 10 seconds game? is it gonna do any good?phpdYmpFp.png

its not chess for me...i need at least 5 min to play

Lmao I've never even heard of 10 seconds lol I would say the lowest you need I mean lowest of the lowest to play a decent game, that if you are advanced player I would say 30 seconds , half a minute should be enough even OTB but that like lowest you can go , but 10 seconds ! Come on !

saurav2202

@ ESP-918 but people here play 10 seconds game! i wonder they might even start playing five seconds game!

it's not real chess, but it's fun, which is all that really matters tbh

I know, IM Andrew Tang is an expert at that. That's how he was the highest bullet rating here. But the games are actually fun to watch, even if most moves are unsound. I don't mind it at all, although there should be a different rating for that.

rileydabozo

it's only for super GMs, they play extremely advanced chess in 10 sec. they have to move pieces with their mind a mouse is too slow

toowealtooslow are u a super gm

10 seconds games should be kept under a section called "crazy fun". because then it is no chess, it is about who has got the fastest mouse in the world and who has got the best reflexes. you can blunder a whole queen, rook still win, you might even blunder the king and still win.

chessplayercarla

for me is no chess...but give they have fun lol

10 seconds is easier online than otb because you don't need to hit a clock or need to worry about dropping pieces

Hard to believe that bullet ratings on chess.com could mean less than they did before, but it's actually true now with 10 second chess...

Cherub_Enjel

Although when compared to one's previous bullet rating, 10 second rating is a good rating of the price of your mouse and speed of your internet connection, and perhaps the agility of your hand.

The guy posting above with a 2600 bullet rating (from 10-15 second games) but a 1600 blitz rating has the formula worked out: take advantage of a Vietnam internet connection to beat some masters in "bullet"...

If you take more time to think you are going to play more sensible moves. I can understand why he lost both games.

happyyellowhandball

But his opponent must've played sensible moves in 10 secs...

fuzzbug

Why stop there?  Have "instant chess". Just have the players throw all their pieces at each other, and the one who catches the most is the winner?

happyyellowhandball

No, you do a "sac check" and they don't notice until they lose LOL

People with touchscreen have an advantage
