You're talking about a crowned rook.

This is my Version for the 10 x 10: https://1drv.ms/x/c/dad3606a250f5422/EZgUCgMh45VKm-sWtN7YWGYBKJV6KFAkFpnxELbWfolFJQ

Have a look and tell me what you think!

A 4+3 "knight" would be an interesting balance to the advantaged bishop. Also a "king's guard" might be an interesting piece: it moves like a king but it can only be taken if forced more than x squares from the king.

A "4+3 "knight"" is called an Antilope

Of course you don't have to limit yourself to 2 new pieces on 10x10: there is room enough to have each player start with 3 filled ranks. E.g. 10 Pawns plus 20 pieces. It is actually better to start the Pawns on 3rd rank on such a board, or you get back the problem of boring and tedious opening play that plagued the precursors of modern Chess before the invention of the double push. Even if it would mean leaving part of the 1st and 2nd rank empty. (An alternative is to add an initial triple push to the Paws.)

The only 10x10 variant I ever designed is Elven Chess; it has 4 new piece types. These move as King (non-royal), King+Bishop, King+Rook or 'double King' (i.e. a piece that can make up to two independent King moves per turn, even if they are both captures).

The non-royal King offers extra trading partners for the minors. The King+Bishop and King+Rook piece are somewhat less overpowering than the Capablanca pieces, because they only get 4 extra moves (compared to R or B) instead of 8. (Of course this is then offset by the overwhelmingly strong double-mover, which is worth Q+R.)

A piece that moves like a Bishop and a King is called a crowned Bishop.

Say you wanted to make the board 10 X 10.

What moves would you make for the new pair of pieces? Superknight could move up 3 and over 2.

Superpawn could move backwards, or maybe not be capturable

Limited bishops and rooks might only move 5 squares on a move

Any suggestions

A piece that moves up 3 and over 2 is called a Zebra. I also included These in my 10 x 10 board: https://1drv.ms/x/c/dad3606a250f5422/EZgUCgMh45VKm-sWtN7YWGYBKJV6KFAkFpnxELbWfolFJQ

I would recommend that if you try to make a Chess variant, that you might try to buff the Knight a bit to match the Bishop in power! I personally would make the Knight move 1 square orthogonally in addition to its traditional moveset, allowing it to control up to 12 squares at once. It would also be still forced to move to a different color square each move.

As for a new fairy piece (or pieces) to include, I would actually like to focus on making more minor pieces rather than including major pieces like the Chancellor or Archbishop, which I feel would lead to too much firepower in play at once. One such example could be a piece that moves like a King, but is just a normal piece that can capture and be captured. It could be called a "Sage" or something like that.

In my variant, 10x10.xlsx, I buffed the knight by replacing it with a nightrider, which is a knight that can move infinitely. I added one major piece, two pieces, each basically 5 points, but then two pairs of minor pieces in turn, although I wouldn't call the camel a minor piece, because it can't switch colors (accidentally wrote colours first time lol (my English teacher is British)). But I'd like to address that many people name the unroyal king. I've heard many people call it a man, but I don't think you'd have to name it differently than just "king". Probably I'm talking about this in the wrong forum, so maybe message me if you have any thoughts.
