Yes, each time you wish to covnert a file, you will need to either

edit that batch file,
or create a new one,
or don't use a batch file at all, and simply execute that command yourself from the command line.

Another alternative, I suppose, is to use a generic filename in your batch file, say my_games.pgn.  You would then first rename the file you want to convert to my_games.pgn.  (And probably rename it later, once it's converted.)  But once you do that, the batch file would then always work, and you'd never have to edit it again.

Whatever's easier.

MrEdCollins thanks for the reply. have a nice day.

In the scid discussion forum on this site, i have found that four years back you were an active member of discussion, you have given there the font size new fonts color change etc etc. even now you are not completely away from chess. then.........

Now out of curiosity, I may ask you,.

in one of your posts you said you had retired from chess. can I know the reason?

Sure.

I have many interests.  Computer programming, movies, bicycle riding, playing other board games, etc., etc.  Studying chess and playing in chess tournaments takes up a lot of my time.  I've often felt I've spent TOO much time on chess.  Yea, I love the game... 621 chess books is proof of that... but there are other things to enjoy in life too.

Right now I've rekindled another old love of mine - backgammon.  I've been entering backgammon tournaments, buying and reading new backgammon books, buying new backgammon sets, etc.  I love backgammon too.  In many ways it's a lot more exciting and more fun than chess is.

Oh, I may certainly "come out of my chess retirement" some day, but right now I think I just need a long break from it.  More than 70+ over-the-board chess tourneys is a lot of tournaments.

Yes, I was very active here, answering hundreds and hundreds of questions for others, usually regarding software and GUIs.  I log in now and then but I'm not here nearly as much as I used to be.
