No, although it's a crazy amount. There was a gentleman from India who had 1600 games going two or three years ago. Several others had totals also over 1000. And no, I don't get it either. I'm assuming there's a doctoral thesis there somewhere on addictive behavior and chess.
1300 games!
It's humanly impossible to keep up the pace playing that amount of games for weeks on end unless he has some kind automated software helping him out rough estimate is that it would take 4-5 hours fo to work through all those games one by one and he's doing this every day?
Doesn't add up not buying it.
Well he has just gone from 1800 rating to 1200 as he couldn't keep up the pace and lost loads of games on time, good for me but held up the tournament and annoying overall!
Just in case you missed this thread, Captain:

Spoiler alert: 3,383 games
I am playing in a tournie (and I'm sure most of you are too!) a chap with 1300 games on the go. This seems a crazy amount and you surely can't hold any of the thought processes between moves so have to look afresh at the game every time
Assuming an average 3 days time for moves, he would be making 400 moves a day, and if he only did 1 minute per move it would still take over 6 hours
I can't really see a benefit to this compared to a much smaller amount of games on which one can concentrate and learn more from (only a 1700 player so no GM)
Is this the most ever?
