139 moves in 1 game
He had you in check for over 100 moves straight, and you think you deserve to win?
Shouldn't this have been a draw at best with repitition like that?

If he had hit the draw button, yeah.
i only had a move to make, i deserved to lose? he could have made another move...he was affraid to lose clearly. end of story.
At a 552 rating, expecting him to understand what 3 fold repetition is is asking a lot. I'm pretty sure 500 players get by without knowing how the pieces move, let alone advanced concepts like "draw," "castling," or "3 fold repetition."
it's coward's tactics, mate is a real win, time is just a guideline so you don't get stuck playing people who refuse to move.

did you even look at the game? just because i don't study chess doesn't mean i can't play...i know these things. assumptive newb.
1- you deserve no win to have allowed a perpetual check when you had so much more material. Simply 20...Qh8 is enough to win (Re7+ Kf8 and he canot take on h8 without hanging his rook).
2- this being said, you deserved a draw. When the same position is repeated three times (including the same possibilities of castling, taking en passant, etc.), either player can claim a draw by clicking the button "draw". You should have done so when it became obvious he was just trying to timeout you.
3- However, a win on time is still a legitimate win, and the three-repetition rule is also here to prevent that kind of things.

You lost on time (which is a legitimate win). If only you had pressed that "draw" button any time after move 25 then you wouldn't have lost. Not only did you have a draw by 3 fold repetition, after move 70 you could have also claimed the 50 move rule draw XD

No, you can't play. Lol.
Flagging on time is a real loss. You should have taken the draw. If you don't understand or agree then you deserve to lose.

It's your responsibility to stop your opponent from having this sort of tactic.

this is a game i played the other day, i just couldn't believe the logic of this sore loser He is not a sore loser (he won). He managed to force a draw and you didn't claim it and then proceeded to lose on time. i destroyed him no you didn't - you lost, and yet he manages to get me stuck in some repetitive nonsense because he can't actually win he did win. so he decides a win on time is considered a real win, well not to me, i know a mate is a real win and i play 10 minute games to force moves but allow time to think, clearly this boy has no brain He was clever enough to beat you.
he won without integrity, by exploitation of a flaw in the system, i know the 3 fold rule, i shouldn't have to click draw when i'm playing a coward, i beat his brain, just because i didn't see some repetitive bull**it doesn't mean that i can't play. what self respecting chess player would rather win on time than by mate? i know your rules, it doesn't change the fact of honor and moral code. without integrity you are just a piece of dirt and this man failed to uphold any of that. the time is there to make sure a game doesn't last needlessly, so mistakes can be made.

Nothing wrong with not knowing the rule, just read up on it and it wont happen again.
and a draw is where either two players can not mate, that was no draw! it was a sore loser exploiting his poor wim, if he is so clever, why not devise a way to take my queen? or to mate? he could have, i saw what he could have done to win, but he was a coward.

You made one by allowing his perpetual check. The rules of the game and the time allotted combined to mean that you should have drawn this game, due to your mistake. Your pride however...that's what lost you the game.

This thread is at once hilarious and silly. The rules say that you lose if your time runs out. They also say that if you and your opponent repeat moves 3 times, it's a draw. However, it's your responsibility to freakin click the draw button. You failed to maitain all of your time and you failed to click the draw button. Therefore, you lose. It really can't get any simpler.
