I also see that some people will move on with "only" 1100 points.
1500 points is not going to be enough to guarantee moving to Crystal

The leagues are just to get people to play chess more often. If you really want to improve at chess, ignore the leagues and play a couple games of rapid every day you have time.

3500 is not enough in this league: https://www.chess.com/leagues/silver/265xa7mve
But overall Silver is pretty chilling compared to crystal.

Wow.

It's a much smarter decision to wait for all the grinders to get to legend league before go all out.
I plan on staying in crystal league for a long time, until it gets vastly easier to get into legends, which will take a couple months at least.
It should only get easier over time. Right now is the most competitive it's ever going to be.

the stone trophy matches my avatar, flair & background, so i won just enough games to collect it & stopped playing. 😆

Are leagues in a separate pool for pairing purposes?
In other words- are non league players only paired with other non league players ?
Doesn’t make much sense to be randomly pairing non league and league players in the same pool - as are not the leagues a type of tournament?

To be a non league player you have to quit by clicking leave league.
*edit* Think I misunderstood you get paired with anyone league or not.

Once you are in a league and continue to play in the league - I am assuming players are only paired with other players in that same league.
A much smaller rating pool. As players advance to the next level/ or league - again, I assume they are paired with like players- an even smaller pool. Much the same as a tournament as the league’s appear to be.
But this has not been seen in writing that I know of- that players enter into a league of players and no longer are paired with the general pool.

I think the mods do not know the answer. It would take a Staff member familiar with league administration - a Tournament Director to answer how CC manages the pairings.
I opted out of the league straight away and am assuming I am now only paired with similar members - those not playing in any league. If so, the pairing pools have been greatly changed.

“Believing” is not an answer- but a guess.
Also - maybe players are paired only with other players in the league’s and may be in another division. Question bring asked- are players not in any league paired in their own separate pool?
Just play a game and then click on the opponent's profile to see if they're in a division or not. simple.

No it is not so simple for a player not participating in a league. One easily assumes the leagues are paired with a tournament format, but nothing as been stated.

Highly doubt match making takes into account league.

What’s with this believing and doubting business as an answer??? These are guesses. I’m looking for something stated in the format/ rules / or Staff League Directors.

Fairness would be compromised if not.
So sad. It depends on your division. Some people who have 1500 league points and have played about 50 games per day won't be moving up to Crystal.
You can look at the players at that point and see that some are not going to make it.

When you click through, you can see they are in sixth or seventh place and can't make up the gap.
Of course, they won't be reading the forum yet.(There are still 4 hours left at this point )
/ If you posted those kind of numbers and didn't make it, tell us about it. Are you going to try again next week?
