All I know is, I wish I were as good at chess as you are. Congratulations. 🤜🤛
1600 Blitz reached at an unexpected pace
To summarize....
1000-1800 took me 1 month
1800-2000 took me 4 months
4 months of not playing led to an increase of 100 rating

I wonder how high your rating would get if you stopped playing all together? ![]()
A couple things to note here. First, it is not uncommon to make rapid leaps as you master new concepts. If you look at the rating graph of many players OTB progress, for example, you will see they jump up 200 points, go down by 50-75 points for a while, then make another 200 point jump. So, it is possible something clicked as you were studying and practicing that enabled you to jump a couple hundred points at once.
Second, the "advanced" setting for new accounts starts people at 1600. So if people over-estimated their abilities, you may have been stomping them as they went down to their real rating.
I have two theorys
1.It's maybe because in rating bracket 1400 - 1500 they are actually GM's in disguise(seriously those guys are tough to crack)
2. Maybe because of good chess habits?
You climbed the rating ladder very quickly because there was something that was holding you back now it's not really a problem anymore. Maybe that problem was your Calculation? Advantage conversion? Speed?
Hi,
Bellow its the time I needed to reach every next 100 points in Blitz.
From 1100 to 1200 took me 8 days
From 1200 to 1300 took me 5 days
From 1300 to 1400 took me 8 months
From 1400 to 1500 took me 1 year and 4 months
From 1500 to 1600 took me 1 month
As you can see first ones were very fast because I was better than that rating pool so I won lot of games. The real thing started from 1300, it was my level at that point. It took me 8 months to gain 100 extra points and reach 1400. After that even harder, more than a year to reach 1500. Well I was expecting that every next 100 will be harder and harder, like 2 years for next 100. However something unexpected happened today. I reached 1600 in only a month after 1500. I didnt do nothing different, same time invested in studies as before.
Is something similar happened to anyone else? Maybe is something about 1600 rating pool and all of people reach it easier idk?
And what goes though my mind right now, will I reach 1700 in a similar pace as 1600 or as before, will take me around 1 year or even more?
What are your pace of gaining extra 100 points, specially from 1500+?
