fortunately I play for fun)))))) however not only chess players but also all geniuses were different from others... I don't know to be happy or unhappy of not being a genius))))
Those weren't 17 reasons, they were 17 World Champions.
1). Not everyone who plays Chess will become the World Champion.
2). Chess may not necessarily be the best thing for obsessive, crazy people... but without Chess they would simply find something else to obsess about.
3). Similarly, playing Chess does not cause people to become alcoholics or drug addicts
4). If fewer geniuses wasted their lives pushing wood they could indeed concentrate on creating bigger and better horrifying weapons of mass destruction to murder millions of civilians with... Oh right, I mean ensure World Peace.
