I find it hard to believe that a 1900 USCF gets mated more than once in a great while.
Since you haven't played any recent games on chess.com (and you don't think those are representative), perhaps you could post a couple of example s of game where that occurred, along with your own analysis of what happened and where you went wrong.
Right now my uscf rating is around 1900. However, I don't see a route that I could take to improve. When I win, it's normally because I either had a successful mating attack, a simple tactic that my opponent missed, or I traded off into a better endgame where I converted into a win. When I lose, it's normally because my opponent had a successful mating attack against me. Based on this knowledge, how do you suggest I improve and what books should I read?
Btw, I don't take any of the games I play on chess.com seriously so don't use that to judge my playstyle.
