2 Rooks better than a Queen??

I just played a game and the engine said I should have sacked my queen for both Rooks I went from + 0.92 to -0.13 moving my queen to safety but I would have had control over the file. I know it’s 10 points to 9 but the centre was still occupied and we each had a dark Bishop with my pawns on the dark squares. I would have thought the queen would need to be preserved at least until the centre had opened.

No offence taken, I’m just trying to learn so I appreciate the post. I’m pretty sure had it continued it would have just been a case of who blundered first which is expected at my rating. I was struggling with what to do as the options seemed limited.

Yeah, according to theory, two rooks is better than a queen...then of course there can be exceptions! Best of luck @SnrWoody, continue to learn from your games!

There are several factors to consider, but this video of mine goes more in-depth:

may be it is contextual and positional. you need opened columns for towers. queen can shot murderous sideways look in diagonal, queen run faster, and can jump over bushes.

No. one rook is better than two queens.

you cheat. you look in opponent 's hands
