2000 rapid!!!

OMG, I just can't believe it. I hit 2000!!! This has been goal since I hit 1000 more than 2 years ago. And now I'm 2000!!!

Have you been studying a lot of master games and tactics or just playing lots of your own games and self analysis?💪 This is a goal of mine too and I am spending a lot of time away from online chess studying from books. Wondering if it's worth jumping into a load of rapid games to see where my level is at. 🤔 Would appreciate your opinion. And congratulations again! Now you'll need to set a new goal.👍

#3 Well, I played a lot, of course, but more importantly, I analyzed every game. I also read chess books, such as IM Jeremy Silman: The Amateur's Mind. This helped me a lot with strategies. I also solved a lot of puzzles, and I also started the Woodpecker method. And you should definitely play rapid games. But not so much - like maximum 5 a day, and if you lose 2 in a row then take a break. But the most important things for me were outside of chess. For example, I deleted multiple video games because I was thinking wayyy too much on them and that took my brain away from chess. I also go to sleep early every day, that also matters a lot.

congratulations! can you give any tips for spotting tactics fast? i can spot most tactics in classical games, and have defeated a few players who are 2000+ on chesscom otb. but here i often miss simple tactics and mess up endgames bcz of not having enough time to calculate. also is opening theory important?

Get a set of 1000 puzzles, solve it in a few weeks, then solve it in a shorter time, then solve it in an even shorter time….. till you solve all the 1000 puzzles in one day.
