Why do players have to forfeit when they don't arrive on time? Can't they just wait until the clock runs out and win on time?
2014 Chess Olympiad (Tromsø)
Germany vs Portugal would suit. 4-0 ;)
Impossible to see Germany versus Brasil since there only are 4 boards. (Sorry Brazilians, you have the best girls!)
Some of the matches should be crazy good, but am excited to see some of the potential individual games on the top boards:
Aronian v. MVL
Nakamura v. Giri
Irina Krush v. Yifan Hou
And every board in the whole Hungary v. China match should be great.
Germany against France is top quality, both in chess and football (soccer).
I think Norway would be hard to beat if everbody had to put four chessplayers in the footballteam. Agdestein has put a goal for the national footballteam, and Carlsen is an ok footballplayer too. Football is an important toy in the Norwegian chessenvironment.
Round 3 pairings are now up:

LOL this is a good match. Maybe USA can get revenge because of world cup loss:
| Bo. | 6 | United States of America (USA) | Rtg | - | 11 | Netherlands (NED) | Rtg | 0 : 0 |
I must celebrate. Norway 1 might win, and most of all , my clubmate in Nordtrand, Johan Salomon (17 years old)won with white over the 120 higher rated IM Denis Kadric and saved a draw for Norway 2. Johan is heading for IM-norm. I think he has to bites in the norm already.

Norway is a very pretty country, it would be nice to have a home there. I don't speak the language though.
First big match for the US and Nakamura draws with White after like 15 moves. Way to represent your country.
I like to live here, and I like that all the forests and mountains and seas are for everyone to use, no matter who owns it. The language are difficult for Englishspaking people to learn, beacause most Norwegian thinks its fun to talk English, so it isnt nessesary enough. I live in the largest city with easy access to big forest and some crowded beaches by the sea. And I am euforic about my chessclub, where I started the 2. of January.
I don't have very good feelings about Hungary's match against China. This thing yesterday against Venezuela with Rapport losing and Judit winning a game with black which was valued +4 for white at some point, just for the 2300 Venezuelan FM to blunder it away in time trouble: this is not the way one is supposed to play against an opponent rated 300 points lower on average ( only Almasi had a clean win, Leko was OK to draw because Iturrizaga is a world class player to be reconed with ).
On the other hand China is rising, the 2700+ list is getting packed with chinese recently, there are almost as many chinese there as russians.
