Meh. Books are overrated. Just be good at the game. You don’t have to learn from books

#11 a 2200 saying this. And the OP reached 2800 by reading books. 😂
Okay, so you are half right. Books make you good at the game faster. I've read The Amateur's Mind - IM Jeremy Silman, and went from 1500 to 2000.

Whoa 2800 is crazy

Also bruh how is it possible to play 423 games in a year???? Does USCF count online games? If not, that's like 2 OTB tournaments a week 👀

Avatar of Fet
USCF has dozens of tournaments
Avatar of chesssblackbelt

I know but the average tourney is 5 rounds and lasts 2-3 days

423/5 = 84.6 but let's say some were 7 round tourneys so we'll say it's 75 tourneys

75 tourneys is around 1.5 tourneys every week which is around 3-4 days per week

So basically bro played OTB in half the days in a year 💀

Avatar of chesssblackbelt

Wait wait I forgot it could include blitz tourneys actually. Ok it's prolly mostly blitz now I think about it
